Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Series and Mi Note 10 Lite Officially Launched Globally

Xiaomi has finally taken off the wraps on the Redmi Note 9 series featuring three smartphones; Redmi Note 9S, Redmi Note 9 Pro, and the surprise Redmi Note 9. The Mi Note 10 Lite also made its global debut in this online launch event retailing at only approximately PHP 17,500 (USD 349).

Xiaomi promised a flagship-level smartphone experience with the Redmi Note 9 mid-range series. They took a step further with the surprise launch of the Redmi Note 9 starting at only approximately PHP 10,000 (USD199) with slight tweaks deviating from the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro—most expensive in the line—starts for only approximately PHP 14,000 (USD 269) while packing a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G SoC, a quad-camera module, 4K video recording and up to 33W wired fast charging. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro (launched globally as Redmi Note 9S) and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max (launched globally as Redmi Note 9S) earlier in India. The Redmi Note 9S was announced as a limited edition MFF 2020 unit for Xiaomi fans.

The Mi Note 10 Lite also made its appearance presenting quality specs at a surprising price. Xiaomi’s Mi Note 10 Lite is still marketed towards mid-range fans only slightly bigger and more expensive. As a preview, with the Mi Note 10 Lite you’ll get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC, 64MP main in a quad camera setup, and 5,260 mAh battery.

The Note 9 Pro highlights an impressive notch-less curved display and two tone colors. It sports an 6.67” FHD+ IPS dot- display at 20:9 aspect ration for the maximum viewing experience. As it’s decked in Corning Gorilla Glass 5 even at the sides, it proves to be durable for the eventual wear-and-tear.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro does not have an in-display fingerprint sensor and instead opted for a side sensor integrated to the lock button. Additionally, its TUV Rheinland certified for blue light to make it easier on the eyes. It certifies its display to be somewhat less invasive.

The Redmi Note 9, in contrast, has a 6.53” FHD+ IPS dot-display with a close 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It’s in a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection as well and a TUV Rheinland certification. You’ll also see a rear fingerprint sensor below the camera instead of a side sensor.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro features an amazing 16MP in-display center punch hole front camera great for selfies. The Redmi Note 9 Pro offers a quad camera setup led by a 64MP (f/1.89) main sensor then built together with an 8MP ultra-wide angle (f/2.2), 5MP macro camera (f/2.5), and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. It’s an awesome module for a mid-range smartphone given it’s wide array of features; Ultra- wide angle mode, Portrait Mode, Cinematic Mode (2.39:1), and Macro Mode.

As far as front cameras go, the Redmi Note 9 retains the same seamless notchless design with a side punch-hole 13MP lens. Face unlock is supported. For rear, it sports a 48MP main in a quad camera setup followed by an 8MP (f2.2) ultra-wide angle, 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. It also introduces a document scanner feature that captures documents cleanly against shadows and low-light.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro is also highly capable of shooting 4K videos. Apart from that, Xiaomi widened the range of how much you can control when shooting. Pro features include:

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 9 series is the first Xiaomi Note smartphones to harness Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoCs. The Redmi Note 9 Pro is fuelled by a Snapdragon 720G with up to 2.3GHz clock speeds and MIMO WiFi support. It also supports select Adreno 618 elite gaming features that coupled with the chipset improves performance in all aspects. The Note 9 Pro can be paired up with 6GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB storage.

The Note 9 debuts alongside the MediaTek Helio G85 chipsets with boosted clockspeeds. Based on Antutu’s benchmarks, it leaves the Redmi Note 8’s Snapdragon 665 in the dust and outperforms other mid-range smartphones’ chipsets. You can get up to 4GB RAM and up to 128 GB storage.

It also has other features like the multi-functional NFC, splash-proof nano-coating, IR blaster, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Redmi Note 9 Pro has an exclusive Z- axis linear motor with 120 haptic touch scenes.

Lastly, both excel in battery running on 5,020 mAh. You’ll find a 33W fast charger in-box for the Note 9 Pro as it supports 30W fast charging (fastest charging in a Redmi Note). The Redmi Note 9 still has 18W fast charging and an included 22.5W fast-charger in-box.

The Note 9 Pro comes in three stylish two-tone exteriors namely Interstellar Grey, Tropical Green, and Glacier White. There’s two variants available for the Redmi Note 9 Pro; 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB, at a retail price of approximately PHP 14,000 (USD 269) and PHP 15,000 USD 299 respectively.

Xiaomi makes the Mi Note 10 line more accessible by bringing prices down while keeping the significant components up. To start, the Mi Note 10 Lite has a 6.57” premium curved 3D FHD+ AMOLED Corning Gorilla 5 glass display with 19.5:9 aspect to body ratio. The 3D curved AMOLED display makes for an awesome hand feel and immersive experience. Additionally, it also features a customizable always-on display along with an in-screen fingerprint sensor.

It carries a 64MP Sony IMX686 main sensor and strapped together with an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, a 5MP macro and 2MP depth sensor. Even without the telephoto lenses, the software aims to supplement that. The Mi Note 10 Lite can still positively shoot 4K videos and is supported with AI scene detection. It’s big on performance especially when comparing with other present mid-range smartphones. Apart from this, like the two other smartphones launched, the Mi Note 10 Lite has an incredibly big battery.

It runs on a massive 5,260 mAh battery life while supporting 30W fast-charging and includes a 33W fast charger in-box. Moreover, other noteworthy features include NFC, splash-proof nano-coating, IR blaster, and the beloved 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite comes in three colors: Nebula Purple, Glacier White and Midnight Black. There are two pricing available for now with approximately PHP 17,500 (USD 349) for the 6GB/64GB unit and approximately PHP 20,000 (USD399) for the 6GB/128GB variant. Xiaomi announced that the Mi Note 10 Lite can go up to 8GB yet they haven’t released pricing yet.

Xiaomi also introduced a new smart home appliance along this global launch. Starting at approximately PHP 2,200 (EUR 39.9) this well designed fan has quite the components. It has 7 custom engineering blades, remote control with the Mi home app, and Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa compatible.
