Vivo Y55s – 3GB RAM for less than 10k

From the looks of it, Vivo’s Y series of smartphones is preparing to penetrate the sub-10k market segment. They released the Y53 last April which has very decent specs for the price of P6,990. Now they announced the arrival of the Vivo Y55s.

The processor used in the Y55s is similar to what was applied in the Y53. The 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8917 Snapdragon 425 processor is more than a year old but still a reliable chipset. I’m actually happy to see this processor again in the Y55s. The screen is bigger at 5.2 inches and has a generous 3GB of RAM to help you easily switch open apps.

The Y55s’ main camera is 13 Megapixels while its front camera retains its 5 Megapixels. The main camera is a significant improvement from the Y53’s so I hope it will function well when I do some tests this week.
