Chinese TV maker TCL announced the launch of the the TCL PLEX, a smartphone that brings the brand’s renowned display expertise to a mobile form factor. It will embody the brand’s new “Display Greatness” philosophy to relentlessly pursue mobile innovation excellence leveraging its unique display heritage. It offers best-in-class imaging standards with an industry-leading camera with super low-light sensor and super wide-angle lens, as well as a fluid, intuitive interface to ensure efficient interaction between you and your smartphones at all times.
The TCL PLEX comes with a 6.53-inch IPS screen display with Full HD+ resolution and a screen-to-body ratio of 19.5:9. It’s equipped with a dedicated display engine which users can indulge in a cinematic immersion anytime you want. With cutting-edge color accuracy thanks to TCL NXTVISION, colors on the TCL PLEX’s screen are intensified with a 6-axis color enhancement for radiant images. The phone’s edges are honed with 2D edge enhancement for sharper pictures and visual contrasts are more striking without being over-exposed. THE PLEX also enhances SDR videos to HDR-quality with increased contrast, amplified color, birghter highlights and darker shadows.
Powering the PLEX is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 designed for mid-range smartphones. Internal Storage is 128GB expandable with a MicroSD Card up to 256GB, and memory is 6GB. Battery capacity is 3,820 mAh and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
The PLEX’s triple camera system is composed of a 48 Megapixel ultra high-res Sony sensor with 4K recording function, 16 Megapixel with 123 degrees super wide-angle, and a 2 Megapixel lens. There’s also a 24 Megapixel front camera for taking self portraits.
The TCL PLEX can also be used as a universal remote control to select TCL Smart TVs. “Content casting” lets the user cast videos, pictures and music to the TV. Another cool feature is the ability to connect up to four Bluetooth speakers to amplify the music or up to four Bluetooth headphones. Music can now be shared with your friends whether in public or in private.

TCL Executives also bared that they are also in the process of coming up with Foldable Phones, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X. Once they are ready to release to the market, it will fall under their premium segment, which they also intend to enter soon.
The TCL PLEX will be available in Obsidian Black and Opal White on November 15, 2019 at select TCL-accredited stores. They also have a promo starting on that date. For every purchase of a TCL PLEX, a customer will get a FREE TCL 24-inch TV worth P7,000!
