I was invited to attend the Smart Midnight Christmas Rush event at Resorts World Manila last Dec. 13 to celebrate the launch of the most desired Smartphone in the Philippines, and we all know that was the iPhone 5. I anticipated the same kind of excitement which I have experienced last year when they closed Power Plant Mall in Rockwell for the Smart iPhone 4S launch. This time, instead of doing the launch in 1 venue, they held the launch in 9 different venues, including Cebu and Davao. I think it was a good move by Smart to hold it in different venues so that subscribers can avoid the hassle of Christmas traffic and just go to the nearest hub they prefer to get their iPhones.
Back to the event, a lot of new and existing customers showed up and while they wait for 12:01a.m. for their brand new iPhone 5s to be released, entertainment was provided by a few dance groups and DJs. Later on, the Boys Night Out trio took over the hosting gig and together with Smart Executives lead by Mr. Napoleon Nazareno, officially announced that the iPhone 5 is officially available at the stroke of midnight. It was a star-studded night, I even found myself standing beside KC Montero and Rhiann Ramos 🙂
