Last October 27, Xiaomi General Manager for Southeast Asia Steve Vickers and his team gave us a tour of the new Mi Exclusive Service Center.

Located at the the 2nd Floor of One Kennedy Place along Club Filipino Drive in Greenhills, San Juan, it’s the very first stand-alone Mi Service Center that’s right at the crossroads of major business districts such as Ortigas, Makati, Mandaluyong, and even Quezon City, making it very accessible from any point.

The space is small, but very well-managed and thought of: from the simplistic design to the sanitized work area to the very cute Bunny Cuddling Room, the Mi Exclusive Service Center is definitely a cozy affair that keeps its customers in mind.

Mr. Vickers gave us a quick look of the facility and explained several important points regarding Xiaomi’s support network throughout the country. If you’re currently a Mi user or if you’re planning to get a Mi phone during one of their Lazada sales, then here are a few things you need to know about the Mi Exclusive Service Center and Xiaomi’s after sale services.

1. The Mi Exclusive Service Center is the eighth Mi service center in the country, but the first that’s exclusive.

Mi has successfully built a local support network in such a short time, already having four authorized service centers across Metro Manila, with others in Batangas, Cebu, Davao, and Zamboanga. In addition to this, Mi has over fifty drop-off points around the country wherein you can leave your phones to be sent to any one of its regional centers.

2. Drop-off points and service centers have different turn-around times.

If you need to have your Mi phone fixed and the nearest authorized service center is a four-hour bus ride away, then you can leave your device at a drop-off point and have it sent to a Mi regional center. These drop-off points have a five-day turn-around period. Authorized service centers, on the other hand, have a two-day turn-around period, while the Mi Exclusive Service Center can fix your device in approximately two hours.

3. That Mi phone you bought abroad can be serviced locally.

As long as it’s been bought in any Asian territory except China, the Mi Exclusive Service Center can accommodate your Mi phone with no questions asked.

4. Xiaomi takes warranty seriously.

Warranty for devices is 12 months, while accessories have six months. Your Mi products will continue to be covered by these warranties even after repairs as long as they’re brought to authorized service centers.

5. The Mi Exclusive Service Center isn’t only about fixing phones.

Mr. Vickers explained that although products can’t be bought in the service center, Xiaomi’s vision is to have place where customers can interact with Mi’s offerings. “[There are] a few accessories lying around the place, you also see some products… not all of which have been launched here yet,” he said. “The aim is to be able to give people the chance to experience the products before they’ve officially come out in the market place.”

6. Speaking of new products, the Mi Exclusive Service Center is the place where you can first experience the MiPad.

Coming soon to the Philippines, the MiPad is a 7.9-inch tablet that you’ll immediately fall in love with. It’s not only about the sharp display or its powerful Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset, its also about the Android 4.4 KitKat that’s beautifully skinned by Xiaomi’s intuitive MIUI. Admittedly, it does look like an iPad Mini, but we’re hoping to see interesting differences once it’s released.

7. The Mi Exclusive Service Center has a Cuddling Room

It’s a known fact that Xiaomi’s Mi Bunny is overly cute, and that all its costumes make it all the cuter. Now imagine a room with a crowd of Mi Bunnies all in different attires that you can touch and hug in an explosion of gigil-inducing cuteness. That’s the Cuddling Room. It’s a place where customers can relax and enjoy the Mi Bunny while waiting for their devices to be fixed. If you’re thinking about holding a grubby toy, you don’t have to worry, because these bunnies are regularly laundered. (Yes, we asked.)

The Mi Exclusive Service Center is open from 10am to 7pm from Mondays to Saturdays. Drop by anytime for any Mi-related issues and Mi Bunny cuddles!
