Ahead of its usual schedule, Samsung held their online Unpacked today and announced the new Samsung Galaxy S21 5G Series. The new flagship series debuts a head-turning, iconic design, an epic pro-grade camera for users of any skill level and the most advanced processor ever in a Galaxy device. And each device offers the connectivity, power and performance that only Samsung can deliver.
The flagships series retained the number of models released last year. The Samsung Galaxy S21 5G is composed of three models: the S21 5G base model, the S21+ 5G and the S21 Ultra 5G. The Galaxy S21 5G was designed for those who want a light design and compact 6.2-inch display while the Galaxy S21+ 5G sports an expanded 6.7-inch display and a larger battery, perfect for marathon gamers and binge-watchers. The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is the largest member of the Galaxy S21 series with a 6.8-inch display. The Galaxy S21 5G series uses a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, the Korean giant’s most intelligent screen yet. For the first time, users no longer have to decide between the smoothness of a 120Hz refresh rate and a Quad HD+ display — on the S21 Ultra, users can choose both. The screen’s refresh rate adjusts to the content users are viewing from 10Hz to 120Hz to ensure they enjoy the best image while staying power efficient to stretch their battery life even further.
Powering the Galaxy S21 5G series with the new Exynos 2100 processor which was announced a few days ago. The 5nm chipset claims to be 10% faster than 20% more power efficient than its previous versions. Customers in Europe, Middle East and Asia will be receiving units with this processor while North American customers will receive S21 units with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship processor. The Galaxy S21 5G and S21+ 5G will have 256GB Internal Storage and 8GB of memory while the S21 Ultra 5G will be offered with 256GB Internal Storage and 12GB of memory and 512GB Internal Storage with 16GB memory (pre-order-exclusive model.)
The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G users expect the flagship smartphone experience to take creative expression and productivity to the next level. That’s why, for the first time on any S Series device, Samsung is bringing the fan favorite S Pen experience to the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G with Wacom’s technology. From drawing to note-taking to editing photos and signing documents, now you can unlock the power of the S Pen on the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. Use an existing S Pen from a Galaxy Note or Galaxy Tab or purchase an S Pen separately on its own or with a compatible case.
The Galaxy S21 Series 5G introduces an all-new, iconic Contour Cut Camera housing that seamlessly blends into the device’s metal frame for a sleek, yet striking, aesthetic. The Galaxy S21 Series 5G continues Samsung’s legendary camera heritage with pro-grade enhancements and video innovations that enable users of every skill level to get the best shot. Both the Galaxy S21 5G and S21 5G+ have triple cameras: 12 Megapixels wide-angle, 12 Megapixels ultra wide-angle and 64 Megapixels telephoto with 30x Space Zoom. On the other hand, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G comes with a quad-camera system composed of 108 Megapixels wide lens, 12 Megapixels ultra-wide, 10 Megapixels telephoto with 3x Optical zoom and a second telephoto also with 10 Megapixels but with 10x Optical zoom. Similar to the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, the S21 Ultra 5G is also capable of 100x Space Zoom.
The Galaxy S21 cameras have an improved Improved 8K Snap lets you grab crystal clear images from your 8K video footage, so you can capture all the live action and get standout still shots every time you hit record. Even in fast-moving or bumpy conditions, your footage will be buttery-smooth with Super Steady video at an improved 60fps. New Director’s View lets you see, switch, and select the best shot to tell your best story. Capture video with the front and rear cameras at once for real-time reactions with Vlogger View, and preview or change the angle, zoom or go wide without losing any action with Live Thumbnails.
