Samsung Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra – Powerful Devices for the New Uncertain Future

Despite of this “new normal” and uncertain future we are facing caused by this pandemic, Samsung still pushed new devices that will help us face this rapidly changing world. Among these new devices, the main focus is on the new Samsung Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra – the most powerful Note series yet. These devices were announced in their first ever virtual Unpacked event.

Samsung didn’t add another product to the dynamic Note duo in spite of launching a Lite version of the Note10 last February. They limited themselves by releasing only two versions of the Note20 just like in the Note10 series last year, with the bigger, better Note renamed as the Note20 Ultra. If you are looking to upgrade for a new Galaxy Note, then better read on as the Note20 series has new things to offer.

The Note20 features cutting-edge technology and best-in-class mobile experiences, without sacrificing the iconic design. Both Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Note20 Ultra introduce new Mystic colors – soft neutral tones that transcend changing trends with a brand new, textured haze effect that cuts down on fingerprints and smudges.

The Note20’s display has been bumped to a 6.7″ Full HD+ Super AMOLED Display while the Note20 Ultra even has a bigger screen at 6.9″ Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Plus Infinity-O Display with 120Hz refresh rate. This is the first time the Note series has this type of display which they obviously followed the route taken by the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Like its S20 counterpart, the Note20 series also has the Qualcomm Snadpragon 865 and 865+ for the US market while the rest of the world will have a slower Exynos 990 chipset. There are some good news, though, regarding PH customers having the Exynos chipsets. According to Samsung Philippines,. the 5G variants of the Note20 and Note20 Ultra will need a software update to activate the 5G connectivity.

Let’s talk about the notable features of the Note20 series for a minute here. The S Pen is even made better by having more lifelike precision that gives
you more accuracy and responsiveness. Latency on writing on the screen has greatly improved, making it more natural for the user to scribble notes. The S Pen’s five new Anywhere actions makes touchless navigation of your device – like returning to the home screen or taking a screenshot – as simple as a flick of the wrist.

Samsung Notes has also been updated and now has auto-save and syncing capabilities, so lost work becomes a thing of the past and you can pick up right where you left off as you move from device to device whether it’s a phone, tablet or a Windows 10 PC. Samsung Notes easily straightens your messy handwriting into legible penmanship. Giving feedback is also easier, now that you can annotate and highlight PDFs in Samsung Notes app. Record audio as you jot down notes, and just tap a word in your notes to go to that moment in the recording. And keep it all organized with a new, intuitive folder management that makes everything easier to find.

And if you are a productivity nut like me, you’ll be glad to know that all your productivity ecosystems will be aligned across devices when Samsung Notes app syncs to Microsoft OneNote and Outlook 3 , and your Reminders sync with Microsoft Outlook, To Do and Teams 4 so everything you need is at your fingertips, no matter where you are.

The Note20 has a perception about being a serious business phone, but trust me, having tested different Note phones for years and having owned a Note9, I can attest that it can also be a top-notch entertainment device. Console-level gaming is now present in the Note20 series with the help of Game Booster which automatically adjusts the phone settings for peak gaming experience, ultra-low latency 5G 5 and Wi-Fi 6 with optimized gaming latency, and of course the powerful Exynos 990 processor.

The Note20 Series are equipped with triple-camera systems with the base model having a 12 Megapixel main camera, 64 Megapixel telephoto and 12 Megapixels Ultra-Wide Angle. On the other hand, the UIltra has a 108 Megapixels main camera, 12 Megapixels periscope telephoto and 12 Megapixels Ultra-Wide Angle. Just like the S20 Ultra, the new Note series can capture 8K video recording.

Also, for the first time with Samsung DeX, wirelessly connect the Galaxy Note20 series to a Smart TV when you need a bigger screen. Manage two screens simultaneously so you can text with your friends on the Galaxy Note20 series while watching a video in a Smart TV.
