OPPO Looks Ahead with 10x Lossless Zoom 5G Smartphone

OPPO has been generating a lot of buzz as of late, thanks to its world-first 10x lossless zoom technology. Made possible by industry-leading camera specifications and design, OPPO is set to offer an unprecedented camera feature set to its users. In addition, the company also presented its yet-to-be-named 5G smartphone, ready to take advantage of the next generation 5G network.

At its first global Innovation Event, OPPO showed its next 5G flagship on-stage. This unnamed flagship is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform with the X50 5G modem. OPPO has been at work on 5G since 2015 to ensure production of a desirable and functionally uncompromised phone. By the OPPO 5G Landing project, the company has partnered with the likes of Swisscom, Telstra, Optus, and had more in-depth collaboration with potential partners like Singtel to promote implementation of 5G products and services.

OPPO’s widely-anticipated 5G smartphone will revolutionize users’ experience with 4K, 8K video download, upload, and cloud-play, 3D video calling, cloud gaming, multiplayer AR/VR games, in-store navigation, AR integrated shopping, immersive entertainment, and more.

Also showcased at the event is OPPO’s much awaited 10x lossless zoom, utilizing a truly unique triple camera setup with a 48 MP main camera, an ultra wide-angle camera, and a periscope-style telephoto lens. Lossless means that detail should be well-preserved when taking zoomed-in shots. In contrast to typical digital zoom, which basically just crops the full image taken by the camera. Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) is also present for the main 42 MP camera and the telephoto lens. This should tremendously help when taking very zoomed-in shots where shaky hands will be more evident.

We can’t wait for when these two headline features eventually show up on the next OPPO flagship later on this year. With that kind of camera feature set in addition to 5G, OPPO is definitely poised to have one of the most compelling smartphone products this year.
