Omega HD 2.0 – Cherry Mobile’s 5th Quad-Core Device

Looks like Cherry Mobile is on a roll with their smartphone upgrades! Last March, they announced an upgrade for the Cherry Mobile Omega called the Omega HD. The highlights of that upgrade are the 12 Megapixel BSI Camera and its DragonTrail Glass Technology screen. Two months later, they announced another upgrade for the Omega HD – the Omega HD 2.0 (seems that all their upgrades are now added with 2.0).

Comparing the specs between the two smartphones, I spotted 1 minor update. The Omega HD 2.0 now has a 1.2GHz Quad-Core processor under its hood, making it their 5th Quad-Core device for this year. We are not certain if it’s powered by Qualcomm, but since Qualcomm’s logo is absent in its specs, then it is safe to say that it may be an MTK-powered unit just like the Omega HD.

So if you want the Omega HD’s 12MP BSI Camera with a Quad-core powered processor, you can buy it for the price of Php8,999.00. Or  you can settle for a Qualcomm-powered Quad-Core smartphone in the form of the SkyFire 2.0. It’s like choosing between Anne Curtis and Kim Chiu, which is actually, uhm, quite hard for me to decide.
