Just a few weeks ago, Nokia Philippines launched the Nokia Lumia 925 as an upgrade to the Lumia 920. Yesterday, they invited us to attend their launch of the Nokia Lumia 625 at their headquarters in Makati.
The major selling points of the Nokia Lumia 625 are the 4.7″ screen display and LTE connectivity. The SRP of Php 13,200 is almost the same price of the Nokia Lumia 720 which I reviewed a couple of months ago. Though the Lumia 720 is more superior than the 625 in terms of hardware and its camera’s Carl Zeiss optics, the latter’s LTE connectivity, larger display and decent 5 Megapixel camera are considered good assets. Their price point makes it the most affordable LTE-compatible phone in the retail market today.
“The Nokia Lumia 625 combines high end innovation and experiences with a stunning 4.7″ screen and 4G connectivity, to bring high speed entertainment to new audiences on a budget.” said Mr. Karel Holub, Nokia Philippines General Manager. He also mentioned that smartphone users nowadays watch more videos and preferred larger screens. “It’s also great for playing Xbox games” added Mike Smith, Nokia Product Manager.
Running Windows Phone 8, the Nokia Lumia 625 provides leading personalization with changeable Live Tiles that update direct to the home screen, whilst the People Hub makes it easy to stay connected with friends and family. There’s also Xbox Live, Microsoft Office integration and 7GB of online SkyDrive storage that adds to the 8GB of built-in memory, and Micro SD support of up to 64GB.
The Nokia Lumia 625 will be available in a range of colors including orange, yellow, bright green, white and black. I will be posting my thoughts in a couple of days with my hands-on experience.
