New iPad Air 2 Features and Specs Leaked!

Apple has an event set on October 16, and there’s enough info flying around about it to make any fan giddy with excitement.

Tech columnist Micheal Andrew and his team from The Michael Report had an exclusive peek of some of the things that Apple will be unveiling courtesy of a reliable inside source. Aside from the new line-up of iMacs with the latest version of the Mac OS X called Yosemite, the tech conglomerate is also set to present the new iPad Air 2.

According to the report, the new line of Air tablets will be 0.5mm thinner than the current iPad, resulting in smaller volume controls that blend in with the new design. Speakers will now be in a single row grill instead of two. It will also feature a fully-laminated display with bezels similar to its previous verison. At the back is an 8MP camera which is an upgrade from the current 5MP, while it’s rumored that the front-facing camera will now support FaceTime HD.

The iPad Air 2 will run on an A8 chip by TMSC with 2GB RAM, and will come in 32, 64, and 128GB iterations in black, white, and gold. It will also feature the much talked about Touch ID scanner on the home button, as well as Apple Pay.

Excited? So are we. There aren’t any images moving through the rumor mills as of yet, but rest assured that we’ll keep you posted as soon as something comes up.
