LG Outs More G2 Variations: G2 Pro and G2 Mini

“Power comes in all sizes” was LG’s statement after launching 2 new models based on the widely successful LG G2.

The LG G2 was praised in 2013 as the best smartphone in the world. I made that declaration too last December when I posted The Top 5 Smartphones I’ve reviewed in 2013.┬áIt is that good, it is that promising. All LG needed to do is to use the same formula to other sizes. They did it to the GPad, which is a great tablet by the way, and now with the LG G2 Pro and G2 Mini.

Phablets side by side: The Starmobile Diamond X1 and the LG G2 Pro

The LG G2 Pro is a 5.9-inch Phablet with Full HD IPS display that will suit well for those who love watching movies on their phones. That’s not all, the G Pro 2 is packed with specs and features that would tempt you in getting one very soon! Take a look at the smokin’ hot specs below:

OS: Android 4.4 KitKat
Processor: 2.26 GHz Qualcomm 800 MSM8974 Quad-Core Snapdragon
Display: 1080 x 1920 pixels, 5.9 inches Full HD IPS Display
Wireless Connections: 4G LTE, HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, WiFi Direct
Memory: 16 GB Internal Storage with expandable memory up to 64GB, 3GB RAM
Connectors: MicroUSB
Camera: 13 Megapixels with OIS+ (Optical Image Stabilization) and LED flash (Main), 2.1 Megapixels (Front)
Battery Capacity: 3200 mAh Li-Ion (removable)

The camera now has OIS+ which is better than the LG G2’s camera by 20%. This comes with a winning combination of 120 frames-per-second (WOW!) HD video recording, slow-motion playback with adjustable speed, 4K Ultra HD recording, Magic Focus, and Natural Flash.

The LG G2 Mini may appeal those who find the LG G2 quite pricey. Form factor is still the same albeit a bit chunky for my taste. My caveat here is the lack of LTE which would make it really a good buy even for myself. Here’s a sneak peak of the G2 Mini’s specs:

OS: Android 4.4 KitKat
Processor: 1.2 GHz Qualcomm 400 MSM8226 Quad-Core Snapdragon
Display: 540 x 960 pixels, 4.7 inches IPS LCD Display
Wireless Connections: HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, WiFi Direct
Memory: 8 GB Internal Storage with expandable memory up to 32GB, 1GB RAM
Connectors: MicroUSB
Camera: 8 Megapixels with LED flash (Main), 1.3 Megapixels (Front)
Battery Capacity: 2400 mAh Li-Ion (removable)

The SRP of the LG G2 Pro is Php 32,990 while the LG G2 Mini would cost only Php 13,990.00. More info can be found on LG Philippines’ website www.lg.com/ph.
