LG Philippines has once again teamed up with streaming giant Netflix to launch the new exclusive series The Umbrella Academy. To give the launch a unique twist, LG and Netflix have created the Seven Super Rooms that will let fans have a taste of what it’s like being a superhero and use their wits to solve tricky puzzles.
Similar to popular escape room puzzle games, each of the rooms were themed after the protagonists’ characters and personalities. First to take a leap into these mind-boggling rooms were the LG OLED TV ambassadors: actress Sanya Lopez, actor Benjamin Alves, Binibining Pilipinas International 2016 Nicole Cordoves, singer and director Khalil Ramos, actor Gil Cuerva and vlogger Dani Baretto.
To help them solve the puzzle and escape the room, they used LG OLED TV AI capabilities to give out commands and LG’s Crytal Clear sound tech to mix a cocktail while listening to a hero’s instructions. All of this combined with the naturally deep blacks of LG’s OLED panels made for a very immersive experience inside the Seven Super Rooms
The new Netflix series exclusive centers around estranged siblings reunited by their father’s death. Having extraordinary superpowers, they try to unlock shocking family secrets, at the same time trying to prevent humanity’s doom from an apocalyptic threat.
The Umbrella Academy is now streaming on Netflix. To provide you with a great viewing experience along with great content, LG is bundling every purchase of the LG 4K OLED TV and Nano Cell TV until March 15, 2019 with a free six-month Netflix account. So if you’re in the market for a new TV and something to watch it with, this is a deal worth checking out.
