Lenovo is gearing up for another big year following its stellar performance during the the 2018-19 fiscal year. The year made the innovation leader claim the top stop in worldwide PC shipments again, a feat driven by significant growth largely coming from sales in its consumer division.
“Lenovo’s solid performance reflects the continuous efforts on our strtegies to put the customer at the core of our business. In today’s world, we focus on enabling them to thrive through the process of ‘intelligent transformation’ by continuing to provide innovative technology whose features can perform in a wide variety of tasks, whether for gaming, entertainment, work and everything in between,” said Lenovo Philippines Country General Manager Michael Ngan.
A critical factor in Lenovo’s growth surge is its Legion gaming lineup which started 2019 in the Philippines with a loud bang! This year saw the opening of the first exclusive Legion Concept Store in SM City North EDSA, and shortly after, Legion was a co-presenter of GameCon 2019, one of the country’s biggest gaming conventions. It was also announced that they will be a major sponsor at ESGS 2019 which will happen in October.
Legion is strengthening its lineup with new devices, namely the Legion Y740 and Y540. The Legion Y740 is a gaming beast with the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU and 9th Gen Intel Core i7-9750H processor. Wrapped in all-aluminum chassis and thin bezels, the Y740 breaks the convention of what gaming devices look like with its sleek design. The Legion Y540 on the other hand will offer three variants. Leading them is one equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU with 6GB VRAM, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM and Intel Core i7-9750H processor.
Legion also released the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 Gaming Laptop for those users who are looking for their first gaming PC. Available in Intel Core i7 with 128GB SSD (P59,995) or Core i5 (P49,995) variants, the IdeaPad L340 Gaming Laptop is one of the most affordable devices out in the market equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU card.
Complementing these are Legion peripherals and accessories designed to offer the complete gaming experience. One of these is the gigantic-sized Legion Y44w gaming monitor. The The Y44w has a 43.4-inch curved display with a 144Hz refresh rate. All devices come with Lenovo’s 2-year Premium Care Support including 24/7 support from Lenovo’s senior tech resources; Zero Tolerance to Dead Pixel, a service that repairs displays even with only a single dead pixel; and 2-year onsite warranty wherein Lenovo’s staff will go directly to the customer’s location for any troubleshooting needs.
Lenovo’s Yoga and IdeaPad lineups also contributed to Lenovo’s growth. The sales are mainly driven by customers’ demand for thin and light devices. Known for their iconic watchband hinges and convertible features, the Yoga and IdeaPad lines are considered as among the most portable devices available.
Headlining the new Yoga devices is the Yoga S940 (SRP: P115,995.) Measuring a sleek 12.2mm and weighing only 1.2kg, it is the world’s first laptop to have Contour Glass which wraps around the display for smoother edges that minimize the appearance of its already thin bezels. Accompanying the Yoga S940 is the Yoga S730, which is designed to be an ideal travel companion with its weight of 1.1kg, thinness of 11.9mm, and its cooling system that pulls air through secondary vents hidden in the keyboard.
The new Lenovo Laptop IdeaPads will be lead by the IdeaPad S540, and it will be available in six variants. The most premium variant will come with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU and Intel Core i7-8565U and it will have a price of P69,995. Multiple variants of the ultra-slim IdeaPad S340, the 2-in-1 convertible laptop IdeaPad C340, and the powerful laptop IdeaPad S145 are also arriving, with higher variants already pre-installed with Microsoft Office Perpetual bundle worth P5,995.
The new Yoga Ultrabooks will also be covered with a 2-year Premium Care Support with 24/7 support from senior tech resources and Zero Tolerance to Dead Pixel.
With all these Lenovo New Laptop and other product announcements, it certainly is exciting to see Lenovo raring to dominate the Philippine PC segment this year.
