Join the #BounceBackPH Movement with their First Education Oriented Webinar

#BounceBackPH Academy has launched their first education- focused webinar titled, “Education in the New Normal” on their series of webinars for the #BounceBackPH movement. The webinar collected various inputs and ideas of alternative and traditional education resource veterans on how students can continue being students amidst these very difficult times.

COVID- 19 hit the world harder than everyone initially expected. Consequently, it crippled many industries, including the education sector severely as it threatened our daily lives. This delayed many plans but we’re slowly going back to our routines. DepEd has announced that nearly 27 million of students are set to resume classes by August 24.

BounceBack Academy is #BounceBackPH Movement’s informal, interactive learning area. It offers webinars and other immersive networking activities for those who require advice. For instance, topics deal with how to survive and progress from the new normal by interactive learning. Both the guests and panelists are volunteers as well.

As part of the #BounceBackPH movement, BounceBack Academy released the “Education in the New Normal” webinar. The webinar suggests and reassures both educators and students how to bounce back to school.

Even so, the threat continues to loom. Various DOH-recommended measures like strict quarantine protocols remain as important facilities. DEPED will certainly take this into consideration according DepEd Undersecretary for Administration Alain Pascua.

Aileen Apollo-de Jesus, Senior Program Manager, Google for Education, Asia Pacific continues this sentiment. Alternative learning modes must be integrated into the new normal as updating facilities won’t be enough. Alain Pascua affirms this with sharing updates on DepEd’s own online learning platforms, DepEd Commons, DepEd’s online archives and ICT4ALS. ICT4ALS is their learning platform in development.

In the same vein, Quipper’s Global Director Yuki Naotori offered their own ready-to-use online learning resources for students grades 4 to 12, noting that these curriculum based lessons have been used since 2014 by thousands of learners.

Edric Mendoza, Homeschool Global Learning Inc. and Rossana Llenado, AHEAD Learning System President zeroed on the importance of home- based learning. Gelix Mercader, co-founder of The Practical Learning Company, pushes for educators to focus on learners and the learning objectives. Not just the platform. Nato Agbayani, co-founder BounceBackPH and The Practical Learning Company emphasizes the importance of delivering quality education as educators.

Concludingly, BounceBack founder Jason dela Rosa sums up that technology is the backbone of BounceBack Academy in letting education stakeholders converse and exchange ideas.
