LG has been awfully quiet for the past few months. I expected them to announce something during the Mobile World Congress last February but all we got were unofficial announcements of the G7. I was left wondering if they will ever release a new flagship smartphone this year. Thankfully, I was sent a press release by LG Philippines’ new PR agency and I would like to share some good news to everyone.
Yes, LG has a new smartphone called the LG G7 ThinQ and it will be officially unveiled on May 2 at the Metropolitan West in New York City and on May 3 at I’PARK Mall in Seoul. I was informed that the launch here in Manila will be held at the end of May. This seventh generation G Series phone is the latest evolution of the the LG V30S ThinQ, the first LG smartphone to incorporate AI technology as part of its core features, including voice recognition and Vision AI. Apart from providing consumers with new ways to interact with their phone, the LG G7 ThinQ will offer improved interconnectivity with other LG ThinQ devices such as home appliances, TVs and more. This is the reason why the G7 is adopting the ThinQ name.
“Now is the time when manufacturers have to pay close attention to what customers actually need and want for their smartphones,” says Hwang Jeong-hwan, president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “With the LG G7 ThinQ, LG is continuing to deliver on its promise to enhance core technologies to meet customers’ real life needs by incorporating AI technologies that are more than features, they are part of the user experience.”
The LG G7 ThinQ will feature the same specs as its predecessor, the G6 but with improvements that will be more beneficial to end-users.
I’ll post more news about the LG G7 ThinQ as soon as they become available.
