Intel Z590 Gigabyte Motherboards Reveal

Intel Z590 Gigabyte motherboards have been revealed just as CES 2021 begun early this week. The new Z590 Intel motherboards are set to support the upcoming 11th Generation of Core processors. These motherboards feature up to 20-phase digital power VRM design and improvements to Fins-Array II heatsink design. Gigabyte’s Z590 AORUS lineup is gearing up for the best thermal and power management design to optimize overclocking the 11th Gen Core processors. Other features such as 10 layers of PCB, aid in heat dissipation. Daisy Chain memory routing with anti interference improves memory overclocking performance. Some Z590 Gigabyte motherboards will offer feature rich I/O as well as integrated I/O shields. New Thermal Guard II design, Smart Fan 6 are also some features brought in.

One of the big additions to the Z590 motherboard is the official support for PCIe 4.0. Power Distribution

Gigabyte Z590 AORUS have advanced power designs that deliver up to 2100 Amps. This provides the best power balance with up to 20+1 phases which can hold up to 100 amps with the DrMOS power stage design. The addition of Tantalum Polymer capacitors improve transient response of the VRM between high and low loads. This avoids sudden crashes from overclocking by increasing stability of the processor.


Gigabyte Z590 AORUS motherboards continue its design focus on heat dissipation. First, its Fins-Array II design features a redesigned stacked fin heatsink; thus, enlarging the surface area up to 3 times compared to traditional heatsinks. The design introduces newly shaped fins that allow for superior heat dissipation. Second, Direct Touch Heat Pipe II design allow for increased contact area with the heatpipe and heatsink, and having a bigger 8mm heatpipe with shortened distance.

Gigabyte Z590 AORUS motherboards implement a new generation LAIRD 7.5W/mK thermal pad. In effect, the new pad has 4x the heat dissipation compared to traditional thermal pads. A metal backplate adds extra sturdiness and rigidity to the motherboard while its nanocarbon coating dissipates heat away from the rear components and PCB. “Reactive Armor” is featured on select Gigabyte Z590 motherboards. Its multiple skived fins and grooved surface provide two times larger dissipation area than a traditional design.


Gigabyte Z590 AORUS motherboards support single slot 32GB DDR4 memory. Memory circuits are embedded within PCB ground layers. The metal outer layer of the PCB reduces electromagnetic interference. Users running dual channel configuration will enjoy high-speed and stable overclocked RAM above XMP 5000MHz. SMT Memory DIMM design utilizes surface adhesion welding technology. Solder joints of the memory slots are smoothly fixed onto the PCB, reducing signal interference. Tantalum Polymer capacitors add signal stabilization.

Users can switch between Slope mode and Stair mode based on need. Slope Mode runs fans on a traditional fan curve. Stair Mode is the new mode that maintains fan speeds within a specified interval that eliminates noise from sudden speed up or speed down of fans. EZ Tuning features feature friendly adjustment and advanced setting mode allowing users to custom tune their system’s system temperature from silent, cool and high performance.
