Huawei is taking its laptop game seriously this year by releasing a new model to compete with other popular PC brands. The success of their MateBook D 15 launched early this year is a good sign for them to release another model that looks familiar but offers something new – the Huawei MateBook D 14.
The Huawei MateBook D 14 has a 14″ FullView Display with Full HD resolution and 84% screen-to-body ratio. Its viewing angle can be adjusted to 178 degrees so you can also show your screen to another person seated in front of you. Like other MateBooks, the D 14 is made of metallic unibody with a thickness of 15.9mm and weight of 1.38kg. This is truly portable and should be beneficial for people always on the go.
Powering the MateBook D 14 is an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor with Radeon Vega 8, the same processor and graphics of the MateBook D 15. The other option is the more powerful Ryzen 7 3700U with Radeon Vega 10. This might disappoint some fans who want a newer Ryzen 4th Gen processor which was launched last month but having tested the MateBook D 15, the Ryzen 3th Gen is a very capable and reliable processor. The D 14 can now cooler thanks to its Shark Fin 2.0 fan design which effectively optimizes air flow and dissipates heat. It still has a fingerprint scanner for security, and a pop-up camera in the keyboard. The laptop also has Huawei Share so Huawei smartphones can quickly transfer photos and other files wirelessly.
The MateBook D 14 comes with a 65W USB-C charger, small enough that fits in your pocket. It can charge the MateBook D 14 up to 46% in just 30 minutes. It also supports fast charging and data transfer for your smartphone.
The Huawei MateBook D 14 will have a price tag of P39,990 for the Ryzen 5 variant and P42,990 for the Ryzen 7 variant. Starting June 29, customers can pre-order the MateBook D 14 and they will FREEBIES worth P6,270. These include a Huawei Freelace, a Huawei Bluetooth Mouse and Huawei Backpack. Pre-Order period ends on July 3, 2020.
Those who are not able to pre-order can still expect a treat from Huawei. From July 4 to 31, 2020, customers who purchase a MateBook D 14 can get a FREE Huawei Backpack worth P1,390.
