I used to play Philippine Ragnarok Online. I was one of the very first Chaos server players, and my first character was a mage that mistakenly had more STR than INT.
Several servers and a Battle Priestess later, I graduated from pRO to play other MMORPGs. However, in spite of those annoying “palimos ng zeny” messages and some hormonally-challenged players, pRO still has a special place in my heart. That’s why it’s saddens me to find out that Level Up! Games will be giving up its local Ragnarok servers by March 31, 2015.
According to LU!, although its Philippine servers will soon be out of commission, they’re working on a migration program with Warpportal which would enable the current players to access their accounts on international servers. By April 2015, a new server on International Ragnarok Online (iRO) will be available for Filipino players, who will still be able to access their accounts inclusive of all current updates.
It’s an end of an era, but it’s been a good run. Thanks for the all the friendships you’ve helped forge and several funny dungeon runs with “chicsilogs”. To all Chaos players and to those who followed years later, I might just bump into you if ever I head on to iRO. Who knows?
