The Gionee Elife S5.1 is Guinness World Records’ Thinnest Smartphone

Thinnest Smartphone in the World

Gionee has previously touted the Elife S5.5 as the World’s Slimmest Smartphone, but it looks like the tech company has broken its own record.

Measuring only 5.1mm thick, the new Elife S5.1 #SLIMGEEK International Version has garnered the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDSĀ® title of Thinnest Smartphone in the World. Launched earlier this month in China, the Elife S5.1 has been engineered not only with design in mind, but also with great consideration to ergonomics.

Its curved edges ensures that phone can be securely and comfortably held, while its metallic structure and its 4.8ā€ Gorilla Glass 3rd display ensure that its well-protected from accidental scratches and drops. From the imbedded camera to the smaller bevels, everything on the Elife S5.1 has been streamlined for beauty and performance.

Beneath its thin exterior runs a tweaked Amigo 2.0 over the Android 4.4 KitKat, powered by a TRU Octa-core 1.7GHz CPU and 1GB RAM. Although its internal memory is non-expandable, it does have 16GB built in. It also has a 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera, as well as a DTS sound system for great audio.

The Elife S5.1 #SLIMGEEK will be released in India this October, follwed soon after by other coutries including the Philippines.
