First Look: realme X3 SuperZoom Unboxing, First Impressions, Sample Photos

I received a mysterious package weeks ago not knowing what’s inside Since we have a lot of stuff to review, I never bothered to open it, until last week. The unwrapping and unboxing of the package revealed it was a realme X3 SuperZoom smartphone, the brand’s first flagship phone in the Phillippines. If I had known it was the realme X3 I would have unboxed it right away.

This was a big surprise for me because I had the impression that realme will not release any of its its flagship phones in the country. Some hardcore fans were yearning for the X-series to be brought here. Now that I have the realme X3 SuperZoom, does that mean it will officially enter our shores?

THE FIRST IMPRESSIONS

realme X3 SuperZoom Unboxing

I didn’t know anything about the X3 SuperZoom so I didn’t know what to expect. When I picked it up from the box, I immediately felt that I’m holding a different phone. Unlike previous realme phones I’ve reviewed, the X3 SuperZoom feels a bit heavier than usual.

I also noticed the smooth texture of its back cover. When I turned it around, I was stunned not only by its Arctic White color, but how it shimmers in the light. I wasn’t sure at first if it was made of glass, but after checking some information in Google, I confirmed it was indeed made of glass. This makes it a certified flagship phone! I giggled in delight because I’m always having a hard time cleaning polycarbonate shells and glass is easier to clean. However, its more fragile so I immediately used the silicon case that came with the package.

Just like the realme 6, the power button doubles as a fingerprint scanner and it’s found on the right side of the phone. The volume controls are located on the other side.

At the bottom are the Type-C USB port, SIM cards slot, and speaker grille. Sadly, the 3.5mm headphone jack was removed. You will need to use the realme Buds Air or other bluetooth earphones to pair with the phone.

The X3 SuperZoom has a dual punch-hole camera display to give its users a full screen experience. The front cameras are composed of 32 Megapixels and 8 Megapixels.

Speaking of the screen, the X3 SuperZoom posses a 120Hz refresh rate, a feature normally found in expensive flagship phones. The realme 6 series introduced a screen with 90Hz refresh rate which is the only phone in its price range to have that feature. Screen is noticeably silky smooth whenever I scrolled. We will test its refresh rate with mobile games if they are applicable.

Under its hood is a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor. I’ve always wanted to use a flagship phone with this processor so I have a lot of expectations that the X3 SuperZoom will deliver when it comes to gaming performance. Also, it is equipped with a 256GB Internal Storage and 12GB of RAM! The only other phone that I have here with 12GB of RAM is my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra which costs P69,900! I wonder what made realme equip it with so much RAM.

It still has a Quad-Camera system which I think is now becoming a standard in realme phones. Lead by its 64 Megapixel camera, so far I’m having a splendid time taking photos. I would also like to mention that this 64 Megapixel camera is not the main camera by default. The good news here is, to shoot with 64 Megapixels, you just have to scroll the camera shortcuts to 64 MP unlike before when I had to access the menu hidden in the upper corner of the phone.
