Cherry Mobile held its first public launch of their newest Flare phones yesterday at Cyberzone SM North EDSA. As expected, the three new Flare S7 phones we posted before were announced – Flare S7, Flare S7 Deluxe and the Flare S7 Plus. The newest Flare phones are on its 7th generation since the popular series was launched in 2012.
The Cherry Mobile Flare S7 comes with a 5.5-inch screen HD+ display, a new MTK processor, and equipped with Dual Cameras on the front and back of the phone. It comes in two variants: one with 2GB of RAM while the other is 3GB. Users who want a bigger Flare phone can opt for the Flare S7 Deluxe. Screen is 5.85-inches, same MTK processor as the S7, 16GB Internal Storage with 3GB of RAM, and dual cameras on the front and back. Battery is also bigger at 3,050 mAh.
The Superstar of the series is the Flare S7 Plus. The Flare S7 Plus sports the biggest screen in the series at 6.15-inches with Full HD+ resolution, MTK 2.0 GHz Helio P60 processor, and 64GB of Internal Storage with 4GB of RAM. Dual cameras in the rear are composed of 16 Megapixels and 5 Megapixels with BSI while the front camera is 16 Megapixels.
Cherry Mobile is pinning their hopes on the Flare S7 Plus to be their breakthrough product in the mid-range smartphone market dominated by international brands like OPPO, Huawei and Vivo. Photos taken with the phone that were shared on social media garnered a lot of hype, resulting the Flare S7 Plus Sold Out in their SM North Edsa branch on opening day!
With the good news of the Flare S7 Plus sold out, will the biggest local phone brand gain the traction in the mid-range segment after years of attempts? We certainly hope so.
The Cherry Mobile Flare S7 retails for P4,599 (16GB/2GB) and P4,999 (16GB/3GB), S7 Deluxe for P5,999 and the S7 Plus for P11,999. Check them out at your favorite Cherry Mobile stores and kiosks. My full review of the Flare S7 Plus will be posted next week.
