ASUS Zenfone Max Plus M1 Launch Tomorrow

News about a new ASUS Zenfone were leaked last month, with pictures showing a phone with a large display and a rumored large battery capacity. Those news were confirmed by ASUS, and by tomorrow they will launch the Zenfone Max Plus at the SM Mall of Asia at 4pm.

The Zenfone Max Plus M1 comes with a 5.7″-sized display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080. It is powered by a MediaTek 1.5GHz MT6750T processor, a chipset rarely used by smartphone makers and among the phones I’ve used last year were the Super D D1 and the OPPO F3 are using them. I’m not sure why ASUS chose this chipset for performance (especially for battery) or for pricing, but I might be able to find out when I receive my review unit. Like the rest of the Zenfone 4 series, the Max Plus 1 sports a dual-camera composed of 16 Megapixels and 8 Megapixels with wide-angle lens and auto-focus. The other main feature of this phone is its built-in 4,130 mAh battery which is now being marketed as the “Battery King.” Some people are wondering questioning this description since the ASUS Zenfone 4 Max has a bigger capacity of the 5,000 mAh. Again, I’ll find out when I evaluate the unit.
