The Asus Zenfone 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S6
I should have posted this sooner but work got into my way. Anyway, the Asus Zenfone 2 is not yet released here in the Philippines so I might as well post these comparison photos along with the Samsung Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6.
These photos were taken during the Asus Zenfone 2 SEA Launch in Jakarta 2 weeks ago. Take note, I have made sure that settings were of the Zenfone 2 and the Galaxy S6 are the same. I have resized these photos to 1000×750 pixels so it can be downloaded easier. Here are the first photos:

My bare eyes tell me that the Asus Zenfone 2 produced a sharper image over the Samsung Galaxy S6. The blue roof shown on the photo of the Zenfone 2 has the correct color while the one on the Galaxy S6 was a little bit purplish.

Noticed any differences aside from John of Kumagcow.com having different poses? Hmmmm…. I think the Samsung Galaxy S6’s photo looks better than the Zenfone 2 this time. The skin tone found on the Galaxy S6 looked better than the Zenfone 2 which is kind pale.
The 3rd batch of photos features Asus’ Lightbox which will let you test the low light capabilities of the Zenfone 2. It’s also a way for users to check if their phones can match the Zenfone 2’s camera prowess. Here we go:

Okay, I’m gonna say things based on what I really see here. With both phones’ HDR modes turned off, the photo taken by the Zenfone 2 is still able to take a decent photo. The Galaxy S6 on the other hand is not able to take much light compared to the Zenfone 2. Too bad I accidentally deleted the HDR version of the Galaxy S6, but I was able to take a sample with my iPhone 6. At first glance, the HDR mode of the Zenfone 2 looked brighter from afar. Zoomed into the photo, the iPhone 6’s result is less livelier but shows a more accurate image of the miniature building.
That’s what I have to say for now. Hopefully I would be able to get a review unit of the Asus Zenfone 2 soon for some real-world tests. There’s one more post about the Zenfone 2 launch 2 weeks ago so watch out for that.
