Last January a lot of new ROG products were revealed in CES 2019 in line with NVIDIA’s new RTX GPU announcement. Along with the much-anticipated ROG Mothership and the refreshed GL704 SCAR II, the ROG Zephyrus S GX701 was also introduced by the number 1 gaming brand in the world.
The ROG Zephyrus S GX701 isn’t just a 17-inch version of the ROG Zephyrus S GX531 I purchased last year. It was still able to maintain its slim, compact form factor that’s slightly longer than the GX531. Holding the GX701 actually feels like a 15-inch gaming notebook, which is amazing! According to our friends from ASUS Philippines, the GX701 can actually fit inside a 15-inch laptop bag so you don’t need to buy a new one.
ASUS has been shrinking their laptops’ bezels for quite a while now so they did it again with the ROG Zephyrus S GX701. The super narrow bezels are measured at 6.9mm with a 81% screen-to-body ratio. The display still offers 144Hz refresh rate with 3ms response time similar to the GX531.
The GX701’s processor is an Intel Core i7 and with the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU varying from RTX 2060 to RTX 2080 Max-Q. Thanks to its bigger size, the Zephyrus S GX701 comes with a bigger battery too!
The ROG Zephyrus S GX701 will be available locally this March in three variants:
- GX701GV w/ 512GB Storage, 16GB RAM and RTX 2060 – P139,995
- GX701GW w/ 512GB Storage, 16GB RAM and RTX 2070 – P169,995
- GX701GX w/ 1TB Storage, 24GB RAM and RTX 2080 – P209,995
And if you want to purchase the GX701, you can pre-order from March 1 to 10 at any ROG Concept Store nationwide as well as Octagon in Glorietta. Freebies worth P17,000 will be given to customers who availed the pre-order.
