Meta Buffs is an event held by ASUS last September 2, 2020 brought about several new components and peripherals for their gaming lineup. Of course we know by now that event included ASUS’ launch of their NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 lineup, which we have covered also in the site previously. But in this article, we’ll be covering the new peripherals that ASUS is bringing in this year.
Meta Buffs Lineup Summary
Along with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 30 launch, ASUS has also announced several new gaming monitors. These are the ROG Swift PG329Q, ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QN and ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QNR. More on the 360Hz models in detail in a separate article. ASUS joins the case fan market with its ROG STRIX XF 120 fan for low noise cooling performance and versatility. For its networking solution, the new ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000, the world’s first WiFi 6E router. For keyboards and mice; the ROG Strix Scope RX which uses ROG RX mechanical optical switches; and the ROG Keris Wireless mouse for compact and nimble control. For sound ASUS releases the ROG Delta S headset with AI noise canceling mic and crystal clear audio. And for mousepads, the ROG Scabbard 2 is released.
The following peripherals make up the Meta Buffs Lineup:
ROG Swift 360Hz PG32Q Gaming Monitor
ROG Swift PG329Q is a 32-inch (2560 x 1440) 175Hz Gaming monitor that features ASUS’ fast IPS panel technology. It is also the first monitor globally to be NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and have variable overdrive. With fast IPS technology, the LCD elements in the display turn on and off up to four times faster than conventional IPS panels. This leads to a superfast 1ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time. It comes in with Quantum-dot technology with factory color pre-calibration. It even has DisplayHDR 600 certification, DCI-P3 98% and sRGB 160% providing a wide color space for stunning color fidelity. ASUS’ Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync (ELMB Sync) technology eliminates motion blur. The customizable variable overdrive on this ROG Swift model works by dynamically adjusting pixel response to accommodate an entire range of refresh rates for razor sharp images while playing.
ROG STRIX XF 120 Cooling Fan
The ROG STRIX XF 120 is a 120mm 4-pin PWM cooling fan that has been tested and verified to deliver optimized acoustic profiles across a range of performance demands. It delivers 62.5 cubic feet per minute (CFM) airflow and 3.07mm H20 static pressure. This provides flexibility to use the ROG STRIX XF120 in applications such as a CPU cooler or for radiator; or just as a case cooler.
ROG STRIX XF 120 features maglev technology that reduces friction while it rotates. This leads to a much quieter acoustic profile and 400,000 hour lifespan. The specially grooved fan blads and anti-vibration design further reduces noise. A wide operating range of 250 to 1800 RPM allows for versatile operations. It can be adjusted to a low speed of 250 rpm or turned off when using the ultra low noise profile.
ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 Gaming Router
ASUS is an established leader in the networking market. Now ASUS is again leading with the launch of the first WiFi 6 router. The ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 delivers a wider bandwidth and increased 160MHz channels of WiFi6E. And as the first WiFi 6 router, it has a tri-band design and 802.11ax WiFi 63 connectivity. The ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 supports speeds of up to 11,000 Mbps and WAN aggregation of up to 2Gbps. With 4×4 WiFi 6 and 2.5 Gbps LAN port, both connection types can now achieve more than 1 Gbps. This enables true Gigabit performance across connection types. Powering the GT-AX11000 is a quad-core 1.8GHz 64bit CPU with 1GB of RAM to handle heavy traffic in WiFi6E network. A 6Ghz power amplifier improves the signal coverage and quality.
ROG STRIX Scope RX Keyboard
The ROG STRIX Scope RX Keyboard is the first mechanical RGB gaming keyboard to use ROG’s RX Red Optical Mechanical Switches. These switches feature a hollow-square stem design with embedded RGB LEDs for all around per-key lighting. The unique design of each switch delivers a near zero debounce delay to ensure instantaneous actuation the moment a key is pressed. The hollow square stem and its x-stabilizer mechanism provide consistent wobble-free keystrokes, while the 100-million-keypress lifespan ensures extreme durability.
The STRIX Scope RX provides an allow top cover and IP56 water and dust resistance rating to ensure durability and longevity. Like other STRIX Scope keyboards, it comes with a lengthened Ctrl key for ‘Crouch’ and other commands. A USB 2.0 port can be used as passthrough for device charging and external storage devices. The Stealth key hides all apps and mutes audio for instant privacy, and the quick-toggle switch quickly changes between functions and media inputs. The keyboard also features a backlit ROG logo and customizable lighting effects. It has Armoury Crate support allowing for custom user profiles, key mapping, macro recording as well as stats tracking.
ROG Keris Wireless Mouse
ROG Keris Wireless is a very light and nimble gaming mouse weighing in at just 79 grams. Its design also provides increased grip comfort during extended gameplay. The mouse is a result of ROGs close collaboration with a professional e-sports team to create the ultimate mouse for pro gamers. After six months of numerous prototypes and trials, ROG Keris Wireless offers gamers the perfect mouse shape.
It features tri-mode connectivity, similar to the ROG Pugio II we’ve reviewed previously. We can choose between using a cable, Bluetooth LE, or 2.4GHz wireless. The high speed sensor has been specially tuned by ROG to have 16,000 dpi sensitivity, 400 ips and 40g acceleration for precision and swiftness. A new feature on the ROG Keris Wireless is the ROG exclusive push-fit switch-socket design with the new ROG Micro Switch. This new switch offers a 70-million click durability and gold plated electro junction for longevity.
The L/R buttons uses PBT plastic for durability. The rounded 100% TPFE mouse feet ensures a smooth glide across any mouse pad.
