Acer GX-281 – The First Ryzen 7 Powered PC in PH

Acer Philippines has just launched a PC that is geared for those people who work hard and play hard. Together with semiconductor giant AMD, the Acer GX-281 is the first PC powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen 7 processor to be launched in the country.

The housing is similar to the Acer GX-781 Gaming PC I’m currently reviewing. It was confirmed by Acer Philippines Product Manager JB Aquino that the GX-281 is using the same chassis for its AMD counterpart.

This desktop PC will come in two variants. The GX-281 with Ryzen 7 will have 8 CPU cores, 1700X, Radeon RX 580, 16GB of RAM (DDR4), 1TB HDD + 256GB SSD, and Windows 10 pre-installed. The other variant will have Ryzen 5 with 6 cores, Ryzen 1600, Radeon RX 580, 8GB of RAM (DDR4), 1TB HDD + 256GB SSD, and of course Windows 10 pre-installed. The GX-281 with Ryzen 7 will be bundled with a 24.5-inch monitor with 144Hz refresh rate and equipped with Freesync, while the other with Ryzen 5 will have a 23.6-inch monitor with 75Hz refresh rate and also equipped with Freesync.

Acer GX-281

While this powerful PC is suited for gaming, it’s not marketed as part of Acer’s Predator line. They emphasized throughout the launch that it is both for work productivity that covers heavy graphics editing work as well as hard core gaming.

The Acer GX-281 with Ryzen 5 will cost P74,999 while the Ryzen 7 will set you back for P96,499.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
