Xiaomi has been known for beautifully simple designs, and this can clearly be seen in the uni-body build of the Mi 4i. Its rubbery smooth back panel slopes towards the edges, curving on to its 5” 1080p Full HD screen with Sunlight Display technology, which enables it to dramatically adjust to ambient brightness. A product of Xiaomi’s collaboration with Foxconn, it sports one of the thinnest motherboards available for smartphones its size, giving more space for its 3,120 mAh battery for a reliable mobile experience.
The Mi 4i runs on a 2nd-Gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. It’s also 4G-ready, and best of all, it’s on MIUI 6 on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop straight out of the box.
Mobile camera junkies will enjoy its 13MP f/2.0 rear camera that produces HD photos. The 5MP front camera also performs well, and is equipped with an 80-degree wide angle lens for those who want to go snap-happy with selfies.
Xiaomi announced its exclusive partnership with Smart Communications, and will be offering the Mi 4i through Surf Plus Plans. Those who get the Mi 4i from non-telco retailers will also be able to enjoy Smart’s nation-widest service with a few prepaid SIM bundle.
The Mi 4i will initially be outed in dark grey, and will be available for pre-registration for Smart customers starting July 24. Lazada will carry the device starting July 29, while Smart stores and other offline retailers will have it beginning August 1.
