MWC News: Sony Launches Xperia M4 Aqua

Sony didn’t announce a new flagship phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, but it did show off its newest mid-range device, the Xperia M4 Aqua.

At one quick look, we’d say that Sony’s new offering is pretty enticing: it’s powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor that runs on Android Lollipop right out of the box. Although it does have a screen resolution of 294ppi, Android Central says that Sony has managed to keep colors vivid on the M4 Aqua’s display.

What’s pretty impressive is that it features an 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front snapper, as not all premium brands would put these on a mid-range phone. The M4 Aqua is also waterproof, so we’re hoping that Sony has finally fixed the issue of its touch screens having a hard time sensing taps when it gets a bit wet.
